Region of Waterloo Official Plan approved in 2022 should remain as is. Regional Staff worked on several years of consultation to ensure all housing would be sufficient and homes would be available for all who live and work in Waterloo Region. This plan ensures that we manage our water and sewage...without expensive plans such as ignoring where and how we build.
Regional Planning Dept is important as this department takes a long view forward to make sure we build in places which do not interfere with the supply of water, determine how we are going to supply services such as police,schools, fire dept, parks.
We need to care for air and water...to provide drinking water and prevent flooding. We have learned from Hurricane Hazel and other such torential storms the importance of proper planning and preservation of wetlands. Our 2022 Regional Plan provides easy access to local grown food...fruit, vegetables and protein. Our rich farmland is essential so don't change the Plan.
