The distances, like for terrestrial camping are far to short and are subject to abuse. The MNRF does not have the capacity to enforce any of the proposals. The intentions are well meaning but there is no capacity with the staffing shortages that there are. MNRF, unfortunately, is not a field functioning ministry and hasn’t been for years.
Being as close to the tourism industry that I am I have never heard of any consultations with the industry or user groups, so I question the thoroughness of the consultations.
