I feel very strongly that "container homes" as currently on Gloucester pool, that are not proper house boats should not be allowed on our waterways.
The proposals you have outlined, limiting the stay to 7 days, not being allowed to moor within 300 M of a dwelling, having to move 1 km away are all very good regulations.
Further regulations I feel should be instituted. No stilts or pilings allowed to go to the lake or river bottom. They are only allowed to have a traditional boat anchor which allows the boat to swing. This protects the lake bottom and doesn't leave an area in darkness for a week. Also absolutely nothing gets discharged onto the water. No gray water no black water no table scraps no ash from an incinerator toilet or garbage burning. No dumping of garbage of any kind even if biodegradable.
I am not an expert but I am a long time resident on Six Mile Lake and understand how important it is to protect our water quality and the beauty of our Lakes. There are ways everyone can enjoy yet protect the lake. Container homes are not one.
