Today the UN issued a clarion call to governments around the world: we only have 12 years to turn our societies around, shift to a low-carbon economy, and keep global warming to within 1.5C. Without immediate action we will lock the planet into catastrophic warming beyond 2C. Already, the planet is 1C warmer than pre-Industrial levels. We've seen the painful results of this with flooding, wild fires, heat waves and ferocious hurricanes. We cannot afford to allow emissions to rise and warming to continue unabated. Already, other countries are taking the lead in tackling climate change. China is committed to shifting to an innovative green economy leaving climate laggards in the dust, both in terms of pollution, quality of life and economic opportunity. Ontario needs to step up and act boldly to both prevent catastrophic climate change and to build a sustainable, green economy.

I want a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy.
I want Ontario to put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint.
I want legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement.
I want Ontario to be 100% powered by renewable energy including water power from Quebec.
I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions.
