Mineral collecting is important to Ontario. It is a healthy outdoor hobby for youth. It is a serious study-pastime for amateur scientists. It is a source of tourism revenue for local operators.
I strongly urge you to ensure that reasonable self-collecting guidelines are enacted that preserve the ability of individuals to collect in Southern Ontario. Without these, mineral collecting will diminish to the detriment of all concerned.
