The United Nations has today published a report calling for urgent action to avoid, in its words, catastrophic climate change. I am sure you are aware of it. It indicates that the goal of limiting climate change is still possible, but it will take unprecedented political commitment.

I would not begrudge you for implementing a new system, if after serious study your government felt it was the best way to address climate change. However, if Ontario, with an intelligent and reasonable man at the helm such as Mr. Phillips, is unable or unwilling to seriously and aggressively confront climate change, I fear greatly for my children's future. I ask respectfully that you take this responsibility with utmost seriousness.
