We need to move forward with…

We need to move forward with initiatives to prevent global climate change, not get rid of the limited bills/policies that we already have. There are so many small and inconsequential issues that are played up to be meaningful on the political stage because they are immediately gratifying, or put forth as an immediate threat. But climate change is one of the three biggest threats to our world! We've already started to see the changes, and can't pretend it's not happening anymore. We've been irresponsible enough in not addressing things more aggressively, and to continue (yes, continue; this is not the first attack on our few "green" initiatives) to take steps backward because Ford wants to ingratiate himself with the selfish and short-sighted members of our society is an inconceivable wrong. In fact all of this should make clear to our government that we need more checks and balances in place to protect some of our most important policies (the ones we NEED for sustainability) from the Trumps and Fords of the world, who lack ethics and foresight, and would prefer to somehow fashion themselves as despots in so-called democratic societies.
