The repeal of the original act is a short-sighted action designed only to satisfy PC party supporters. The Cap and Trade program is exactly the system that is needed to reduce the use of fossil fuels in Ontario. The system is a success in other jurisdictions and would work in Ontario. It is needed particularly in light of information released by the IPCC in the past few days which speaks to the urgency of this issue. We do not have much time to reduce the impacts of fossil fuel burning which have resulted in climate change. Cap and Trade is an excellent way to make users pay and reward conservers. It must not be repealed.
