I am writing to express my opposition to the proposal to reverse the ban on penned dog hunting in Ontario. This practice is cruel and inhumane, causing unnecessary suffering to coyotes, foxes, and rabbits who are used as live bait and subjected to terror and injury.
The use of penned dog hunting facilities is not supported by the majority of Canadians who oppose killing animals for sport. It is a disturbing form of entertainment for a small group of hunters, and has no place in modern society.
I urge the Ontario government to maintain the ban on penned dog hunting and promote humane and sustainable methods of wildlife management. Animals deserve our respect and protection, and should not be used as disposable objects in senseless games.
