I firmly believe that all citizens require climate change laws that include science based emission budgets, legal accountability to stay within these laws and a transparent process for measuring and reporting progress. Incentives for discovering new solutions to carbon based fuels such as polluter pay tools give choice and reward for reducing emissions. I am very concerned that the proposed Cap and Trade Cancellation Act demonstrates a basic lack of leadership and rash decision making by the Ontario government that will negatively impact our environment, health and business now and for generations to come. I do not agree with the proposed Cap and Trade Cancellation Act.
