I think it is absolutely necessary to keep in place these measures that help us control our impact on the environment. I want Ontario to put a price on pollution, so the average citizen can understand the ultimate price it has on our planet and our lives. Polluters should pay for their emissions, and that money should go back into the pockets of Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint. I want legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement. The environment should be thought about in every single decision we make. I want Ontario to be 100% powered by clean energy by 2050. I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies, and redirect the money to clean energy solutions. Companies should be held liable and responsible for the waste they produce, and mandated to become clean. Environment plans provide jobs for citizens, help build a better province, and save trillions of dollars in the long run.
