This is not a great practice we should be encouraging. There are other, more humane ways of training hunting dogs. Look into other options such as using carcasses or fur from these animals for scent training. I don’t understand why the animal has to be alive. This would just require extra resources to feed and house the animal until it’s use is done with. I feel that as a society, are far enough advanced that we don’t need to keep live wild animals in cages for dogs to train. There is enough wildlife-human conflict as it is as we continue to take habitat and space from wildlife.
