How can I explain this to my teenage children? My children are being taught about climate change in school. They know humanity has less than 10 years left to get its act together, and the consequences of not doing so will affect everyone on the planet in their lifetimes. When it gets too hot, we won't be able to grow grains at scale. It's that simple; talk to a farmer. They know about the IPCC report and how carbon taxation is deemed to be essential. They know about Nobel Prize winners William Nordhaus and Paul Romer who won the award for their work on the importance of carbon taxation in mitigating climate change.

I now am being put in the position of telling my children that our province is backing out of carbon taxation (cap and trade). How are they to be proud Ontarians knowing that their provincial government is buying cheap votes by selling their future. You will never regret doing the right thing, but we will all regret your power grabbing short-sightedness if this bill is allowed to pass.
