I urge the environmental authorities to conduct a comprehensive environmental impact assessment (EIA) to thoroughly evaluate the potential consequences of extracting below the water table at a maximum depth of 258 masl. The assessment should take into account the following factors:
Groundwater Quality and Quantity: Assess the potential for groundwater contamination and depletion due to extraction below the water table, ensuring it does not harm nearby water sources, including wells and aquifers.
Hydrological Impacts: Evaluate the potential alteration of local hydrological patterns, such as changes in water flow, groundwater recharge, and discharge, which could affect the surrounding ecosystems and habitats.
Ecosystem Preservation and Biodiversity: Consider the impacts on local flora and fauna, as well as the potential disruption of ecosystems, habitats, and biodiversity due to alterations in water table levels.
Mitigation Measures and Sustainable Practices: Ensure that appropriate mitigation measures and sustainable extraction practices are implemented to minimize environmental harm and promote responsible resource utilization.
Monitoring and Compliance: Establish a robust monitoring framework to oversee ongoing operations and ensure compliance with the proposed site plan amendments, incorporating regular reporting and audits.
Thank you for considering these comments and concerns. I trust that the environmental authorities will carefully evaluate the proposal and make informed decisions to safeguard our environment.
