I am in favour of reducing red tape in the NEC area. However, this proposal covers making it easier and less red tape for installation of utilities or repairs on bridges etc. How about ease of obtaining a permit for homeowners that want to undertake a project. How about reducing red tape for them as well. In halton the amount of red tape is extreme so that it can take up to 3 years before a shovel gets into the ground. Approval is needed by Halton Region, the city, NEC and halton conservation. If MMAH mandate is to build more homes that are so terribly needed then reduce red tape where it is needed and eases the tensions of its citizens instead of only considering the municipality or the companies that work on utilities or roads. Government has no idea what NEC tax paying citizens have to go through to build a shed or addition on their home or landscaping project. When these proposals are constructed how about we consider the ones that actually pay everyone’s salaries. The hard working tax paying citizen !!!
