The proposal as it stands will increase inequity for those with household incomes below that 60th percentile benchmark. A fair and accessible rental housing plan would set the amount at a MAXIMUM of 30% of household income and provide for even lower rates for the more marginalized. The so-called “sliding scale” has been a much-used and highly effective means for achieving goals of this nature.
Please seriously reconsider this policy change.
