Please do not proceed with this proposal. There needs to be significant oversight to manage storm water. Small-scale projects add up and if done piecemeal, they will not be as effective as they could be if regulated with a more regional scale in mind, even if the intentions are good (LID). As climate change continues to become more extreme (another issue this government could work harder to mitigate!), storm water will be essential for replenishing aquifers, and maintaining vegetation for biodiversity. Source water protection legislation is essential and there should be no streamlining or shortcuts, especially if the only rationale is an economic one.
