Cancelling Ontario's cap and trade legislation is an irresponsible and short sighted decision taken by the Conservative Ontario Provincial government. This is a step backwards. Not only does the cap and trade program move Ontario towards a more sustainable energy future, putting a price on petroleum product pollution, the money from the program allows the province to obtain a cash infusion for projects that are so desperately needed in this province (from improved bike trails, transit, and school and hospital renovations. Putting projects affecting our seniors and our children at risk I The only way for our province to thrive is for us to be innovative and move forward, instead of pretending nothing's wrong. I am one of many of the people of Ontario who believes sticking with cap and trade is the very LEAST our government can do to move us towards a brighter future; a future where we are in step with the direction most other nations in the world are taking. I sincerely hope the Ontario Provincial Government reconsiders its decision to scrap this important program.
