This disposal site is a horrible idea and proposition for the town of Dresden. Residents of Dresden should be consulted before anything moves forward. Would you want to have a garbage dump pretty much in your backyard? Dresden is a town of 2600 people who have NOT been consulted about what is going to be life changing to the residents. Especially to have this dump be operational for 24 hours a day - what about the neighbours that live in the area or on those roads/streets that have to listen to dump trucks and/or garbage trucks go by there houses all hours of the day? Dresden is supposed to a family friendly community - would you want to buy a house near a town that has a dump nearby?
Look at the dump on the 401 outside of London - that area smells for MILES. Dresden residents enjoy being able to have there windows open during appropriate months or using there clothes lines. Having a dump is going to severely diminish the air quality of the town and all surrounding area. The garbage isn't even going to be local garbage even - it's garbage from the city!! At a time where "carbon" is being pushed on us does it make a whole lot of sense to have garbage trucks driving for hours out of the city when the environment is supposed to be first and foremost in our minds right now?
The province of Ontario doesn't seem to have any regard for personal health and wellbeing. Be smarter Ontario!
