Cap and trade should not be cancelled. The cost to tax payers in both the legal fees and effects of not acting on climate change are too great and there is no benefit to cancelling cap and trade.

Cap and trade is in place! We do not want to have to pay for legal fees in response to cancelling this program! How can this government even consider this given they have been so critical (rightly) of the cancelled gas plants by the liberal government? How is this any different? I don't think there is a difference. This is extremely hypocritical and an unnecessary cost that the taxpayers of Ontario are not wiling to front! Do not repeal cap and trade.

Climate change is the most pressing issue of our time. It is the government's responsibility to act immediately, and in ways that will have large impacts at drastically reducing our carbon output. Cap and trade is one such measure that can help curb emissions and should not be cut. The government must act on climate change now! This is an important issue and the government should be doing everything in its power to reduce emissions - not the opposite. Be a responsible government and do not repeal cap and trade.

Cap and trade is an effective program that makes polluters pay for polluting and phasing out permits for pollution over time, forces industries to become more efficient and pollute less. This is a win-win solution to the major challenge of emissions. There is no benefit to repealing the cap and trade program especially in light of the dangers of inaction on climate change. It is illogical and irresponsible to consider removing such an important program. Do not repeal cap and trade.
