I am vehemently opposed to the Act which repeals the Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016 and provides for various matters related to the wind down of the Cap and Trade Program. We need significant and far-reaching action on climate change or we will be paying even greater economic and humanitarian costs in the near future as the rising temperature of the earth creates increased climate-related disasters. The recent Intergovernmental panel on Climate Change (http://www.ipcc.ch/report/sr15/) has released it's study of the past several years to say that we have a window of only 12 years to act before irreversible damage is done. The programs that the Ontario government has already cut since being elected in June are all needed to reverse climate damage along with significant additional action. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter!
