I am not in favour of this proposal being approved. Our home is within 1.5 km from this site. My concerns are for the changes to this small town. Dresden is a small farming community and everyone is respectful of the changing seasons: the planting season, the harvest season where we have a seed business in town which is busy in both seasons, and also a tomato processing plant which is busy in both seasons. Many tractors, slow moving vehicles are everywhere and the safety of the farmers is huge concern. With the proposal there will be many transports going thru this town and knowing these drivers probably have timely schedules this would slow them down, or they may not be very attentive and go a bit faster than they should thru town. We also have a primary school and secondary school in town, with children going and coming, at both ends of town. As well there are many buses, a slow school zone all that can be affected by the extra transports coming thru town. Again if their schedules are tight are they going to respect all of these other slow down factors. Will our children be safe, will our farmers be safe, and anyone doing business in town, will they be safe? It's one thing for these trucks coming down the 401 at a pretty fast pace, but another thing when off the highway and entering a small community where safety needs to be factored in. Of course other concerns are the environmental issues for Molly Creek and the Sydenham river. As well, if this ends up being more than a construction dump, will there be unpleasant odors and extra wild life around, for example extra sea gulls. And the unsightliness of 80 ft berms all around... Please be mindful in your decision of our small community that is trying to thrive and grow. Who will want to come here if we are inundated with all of this being transported thru our community. Best Regards from a very concerned Dresdenite.
