The site York 1 has chosen is not in an environmentally safe area! It is right beside our entire town.
It is not safe for our waterways and there is a real threat of leachate leaking adding risks to the endangered species and habitat in Mollys creek and the Sydenham River and to our farmlands.
York 1 is using whatever they can to use this dormant, Dresden used only, dormant dump without any concern for our safety and health in the long term.
York 1 has been underhanded and sneaky in all their approaches and have kept our town in the dark with all of their intentions once they get their proposals met. The traffic, noise , pollution, air pollution and threat to our communities health is immeasurable. One safety hazard is too many even with added traffic of 700 trucks a day while our kids are riding the country buses to school.
This is not the place for York. I fear for everyone’s health and safety with no concern for the future of our town.
