There is NO reason why a landfill dump should be allowed less than 500 meters from York1's burm border to the edge of town.
York1 is in the process of purchasing more land than they will need for this small project and with the V.P stating they will require more land to make this project sustainable for another 70 years means they intend to. Make this a 24/7 mega dump in the future.
This can not happen.
This government is making southwestern Ontario a dumping ground for a Toronto's garbage.
Southwestern Ontario is full of amazing farm fields and we grow food for all of Canada.
Putting this type of facility less than 1 km from Dresden homes and schools as well as prime agricultural farmland will not only kill this town, but we will no longer be able to grow the fresh vegetables that Ontario eats .
Nobody wants to eat food that has asbestos blown on it or pollinated by bees that have asbestos on them which will kill the bees.
Let alone because this project is in a flood plain and continually gets flooded, corn, tomatoes and soy will be grown in leachate water that is flooded by the heavy rains we get here.
This site needs to be closer to a major highway.. not way in the country in an area that is not yet represented by a MPP.
Is this why this government doesn't care about the 2400 residents of this town?
York1 and the environment Minister both agree this would be a NEW landfill based on a outdated 40 year old ERO on a closed site that was only able to accept 95% fly ash.
Not 6000 tonnes of garbage and waste from asbestos and much more.
Dresden has so many endangered species that only thrive in this environment and can not be found anywhere else in the world.
We have spawning grounds for fish that everyone catches in the great lakes,
You poison these fish habitats, you poison the people that catch and eat these fish.
There are so many closed mines up north that York1 can open and use. Why are they proposing Ontario's Garbage and waste come here?
When York1 purchases another 350 acres, it will not be used for wood and bricks, because Ontario is running out of landfill space so this site will have to start accepting the garbage that other landfills won't take when they are full.
This may start out to be a small proposal, but once they get a foot hold in this area, we will see York1 apply for more rezoning to accept garbage and much more because rural tipping fees are so low.
Our children live here. Endangered species live here, Ontario's health care is already at its max capacity.
This government will only have an increase of this areas use of more health care because all the studies show how people get more sick living so close to landfills.
Wheatley just blew up from oil reserves under that town which exploded.
Dresden has gas and oil pockets running throughout our infrastructure which can be easily ignited by York1's Diesel machinery.
You can read in York1 own reporting, they did a water report, however when they drilled down 6 meters they hit a methane gas pocket which in turned natural methane gas leached into neighbours water wells.
So instead of continuing with water samples, they closed their test well.
The V.P has continually lied to the province, minister of environment and Chatham city council and they insured a property for 13 months which they do not own so to claim they owned more land than they actually owned.
York1 has not been upfront, they have lied on many reports and have not even done a proper geolologic report to know where the gas and oil pockets are.
York1 has even made the neighbour who York1 claimed York1 property they owned which they don't own, liable for insurance scam against Waste management.
So if something was to happen when waste management transported waste for York1..
The lady who actually owns her property would have been liable because York1 took out an AVIVA insurance policy out on her property, which York1 doesn't own.
This company is doing fraud against neighbours, Chatham city council, the province of Ontario and residents of Dresden and this fraud should invalidate all of their proposals and contracts .
The more we read all of their proposals, well tests, lawyer letters and insurance paperwork, we keep finding more and more where YORK1 has lied and it been truthful or upfront with anyone.
Even at the March 1st public meeting York1 has in Dresden, they were caught in many lies and most of the publics questions were never answered because York1 knew they were caught in lies and untruths.
This company can not be trusted!
If they can't get their information and paper work straight, they will never be trusted to follow the rules and can not be trusted to open a facility 500 meters from town line which is so close to Dresden schools and homes, business and the ecological paradise that Dresden is a huge part of.
We have always had flooding in this town
York1 has bought property in this flood zone which they will only add to more flooding.
Dresden has high winds and heavy rain which will flood leachate ponds which York1's own proposal states they will drain directly into Molly's Creek and the Sydenham River.
This will be an environmental disaster
As well.. nobody has taken in consideration that the native reserve is not too far away from Dresden and this leachate water will also affect their water wells and fishing grounds.
This proposal has too many holes to be allowed to open a facility in or near Dresden
Please consider the entire southwestern Ontario is against this facility opening here.
Our roads and infrastructure can not handle the 700 trucks and their emission 24/7.
Having this type of facility open 24/7 means it will become the largest landfill in all of Canada, especially since York1 is trying to purchase more land many kms wide.
