Environmental Assessments should be completed even when land is expropriated.
In fact, it is more important than ever to do complete Environmental Assessments when land is expropriated.
The probability of rushing forward to an ecological or public health disaster is magnified when we rush forward and push something through that the public does not want. (If the project was generally acceptable to the public, there would be no need to expropriate, right?)
No one, not even elected officials, should think they know more than scientists and specialists who have studied environmental impacts for years.
No one should be so arrogant to think that they know better than accredited advisors.
