I am a resident of North…

I am a resident of North Dresden, Ontario, and we currently do not have a MPP to represent us. Albeit there is an upcoming by-election on May 2nd, we are deeply concerned about York1's proposal to resurrect an old ECA for a property that never had to go through an EA.

This address location is not a good fit for the town of Dresden, nor the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, nor neighbouring Lambton County. Its location is less than 1KM from the town limits of Dresden...home to nearly 3000 residents. It is less than 1KM from a cemetary, and a high school. It is about 1.6KM from an elementary school.

Surrounding the property is the 4th Concession drain (on south side of 29831) which drains into Molly's Creek (on the east and southeast corner of 29831). Molly's Creek drains into the Sydenham River, that flows through Tupperville, to Wallaceburg, and Walpole Island First Nation. In York1's ERO 019-7917 proposal, they want to drain stormwater into Molly's Creek...which is home to many endangered species, and has a beautiful ecosystem.

According to Landfill legislation, there should not be any landfill, this close to any community...and definitely not the small historic town of Dresden. Historical evidence in Ontario has shown that the maximum distance within which adverse effects could be experienced while a landfill is operating is up to 3 kilometres...and this proposed location, is not even 1KM from town. It's barely 3KM from the proposed landfill, all the way to the south side of town...which would encompass the whole town.

This landfill cannot happen here. There is too much at risk...from destroying an ecosystem of endangered species...to creating potential serious health effects to the residents of the town...to destroying the local roadways with the amount of proposed truck traffic.

Please listen to the town of Dresden, and do not approve York1's proposal.
