I live in Woodbridge near the intersection where this proposal will impact. The congestion in that area is already extensive and difficult to manage especially at rush hour. Adding condo towers will only increase the congestion directly next to a highway entrance/exit and directly impact the quality of living for those of us in the area.
There does not seem to be any compelling reason to build other than to provide outsized profits to the developer. It is not consistent with the neighbourhood and is not supporting the housing crisis by providing social housing, below market value units, or co-ops.
Finally, the Weston Downs Ratepayers Association, along with other ratepayer groups to the south and the west of our community opposed this proposal in December 2023, and this decision should be taken seriously and not overturned.
