Since research has shown that "taxes" on carbon do reduce carbon emissions, it is important that an effective alternate method of reducing carbon emissions be initiated at the same time. Since the increase in extreme weather events predicted by the world's climate change scientists is already beginning to happen, we all need to contribute to resolving this problem. Not doing anything will clearly cost much more than any "taxes" we are paying. It is imperative that Ontario contribute its fair share to limiting carbon emissions.
