This is a welcome change to the system from my perspective. I currently own and run a camp/cabin/outfitter business in WMU29. For the first two years of the points based allocation we had several groups hunting with a bow cow/calf tags which. During these years the tags were plentiful and did not require a large expenditure of points.

All of our customers had fabulous times hunting, plenty of interactions with moose while at the same time, none were successful in tagging the moose. This year, not only do we not have any of these groups, several groups that expected to get such a tag were not awarded a tag and cancelled reservations because of no tag.

Hoping this goes through so we can better ensure that opportunities to hunt moose are maximized within the conservation framework.
