I fail to understand the resoling behind why the province deems this necessary.
I will address the provinces own reasoning directly.
"Recognizes the need to build priority highways faster as our province grows in order to get people and goods out of gridlock and save drivers and businesses time and money."
None of the "problem roads" this proposal is targeted at are Provincial Highways. Bike lanes are on municipal roads, and have little to no effect on provincial travel. Municipalities have a better understanding of Municipal issues, and should be able to address them without being impeded by the province.
"Recognizes that accidents and lane closures can worsen traffic congestion and impact the quality of life of Ontarians."
Bikes sharing the road with vehicle traffic can also worsen congestion and impact the quality of life of Ontarians.
"Is speeding up the delivery of broadband projects that will connect people in all parts of Ontario, including rural areas, with reliable internet access."
What does this have to do with Municipal Transportation Infrastructure?
"Is building Highway 413, recognizing the importance of this highway to millions of drivers from across Ontario."
Are you kidding me? This proposal has nothing to do with Hwy 413.
I do not support this proposed change. The reasoning given is misleading, and this proposal can only be seen as Provincial overreach into Municipal issues.
