I am devastated and truly embarrassed and ashamed of my province’s irresponsible lack of environmental action and concern. : \ Cap and trade was working effectively, providing jobs and energy savings through subsidized home improvements etc. It incentivized big industry to reduce their pollution levels. Higher gas prices are proven to encourage use of public transport, more energy-efficient vehicles and carpooling. People can save money easily by doing those things. Lowering gas prices just supports the status quo, is devoid of innovation. The latest UN report reinforces this and breaks my heart even more : (
