I was a longtime cyclist in the city of Toronto and now mainly drive as I need the mobility for the service business I operate as well as running kids to various appointments in places that are not well served by transit.
As a longtime resident of the city, I am amazed at the loss of reason in application of bike lanes. In the 1990s it would’ve been great to have had even one.
Now every single street features them which is equally unreasonable.
It comes across as a pre-to spend public money in a social experiment that doesn’t really provide value.
Please: Pass this legislation and stand up for evidence based policies. Evidence based means place bike lanes where demand warrants.
If Lane isn’t in regular use, remove it.
Stand up for a diverse transportation grid: Routes that cars can use effectively and routes that bikes can use effectively.
