As a resident of the community it concerns me greatly to have a biosolids storage site so close to our Sydenham River. In the property right across from this proposed site there is a natural wetlands where fish spawn annually. We also need to recognize that many farms and households in this proposed area use well water and if the site is not safely maintained it will increase the risk of drinking water contamination. Other sites that this company have operated have been poorly maintained which is part of the reason that our community has been very vocal against the proposal of this site. I am also concerned about the high levels of traffic that this will cause in our community.
In general our community has been very clear that we do not want this project to move forward for safety reasons and for the general enjoyment of our beautiful community. We have seen first hand how this company mismanages their sites (the one by the 402), and are very concerned about the management of the property so close to the Sydenham, local farms and homes.
