As a neighbour, and a part of this community for several years, I have a great concern for having this human waste dump dropped into our neighbourhood. For one thing, it is not very far from the Sydenham river, and with some of the rains we have experienced recently, I have concerns that the proposed swales, catch basins, dry pond etc, are not going to be enough to stop the sewage from escaping. Not to mention the potential for groundwater contamination, and I did not see anything about groundwater monitoring stations in the proposal. The waste is not fully enclosed, but covered only with a tarp and tires. This is totally unacceptable, as again, with some of the recent weather that we have experienced, does not assure me that this is going to be enough to prevent the human waste from escaping into the environment. There is no way this site should ever be approved to house human biosolid waste.
