I’ve hunted for 45yrs. This point system is not fair. I myself, was awarded a bull moose tag for gun in the second stage. I did not claim it because it was not needed. One of our hunters in our party received a tag in the second stage at the same time I did (which she should have gotten in the first round, she had enough points). Because of her not getting the tag in the first stage. We all applied for the second stage. Causing our party of 8 to be awarded 3 moose tags. Which we only wanted 1 moose tag. 2 out of the 3 went unclaimed because of this point system you have in place. It has no clear direction that we could send back those 2 unclaimed tags. My proposal for you to look at would be to have a 3rd stage. In which you need to claim the tag automatically. My 2nd proposal is contact the Newfoundland fish & game . Their allocation tag system works well for that province. 3rd proposal is to put tighter restrictions on the indigenous people that are affecting the moose population prior to the opening of the moose season. I have no problem with you sending this letter to the Honourable Graydon Smith.
