Bike lanes are crucial for cities in order to give people a safe alternative to driving in the city. Where Doug Ford wants to remove bike lanes are corridors with subways underneath. Why is the objective to speed up the movement of vehicles and not the movement of people. Cars are an extremely ineffecient form of transportation, especially in downtown Toronto, why are you prioritizing cars over safety? People will continue to bike in the city, but they will be in much greater danger due to this Act. The people of Toronto voted for a Mayor that promised to continue to make our streets safer for all road users, so don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong and actually listen to the people of this city.
