Hi! I'm someone who has lived in Toronto for 10 years and who both bikes and drives a car very regularly in the city.
I really don't believe that getting rid of bike lanes will reduce gridlock. I can tell you that the number of times a parked car or delivery driver has blocked a lane of traffic during rush hour would shock you. So no, getting rid of the bike lane to create two lanes of traffic instead of one won't actually fix the gridlock issue.
The problem isn't the bike lanes. It's cars parked where they aren't supposed to that ACTUALLY cause traffic.
