Biking to work is the fastest way for me to get to work each, allowing me as a working mom to fit in some exercise into my day and spend as much time as possible with my family rather than commuting. I rely on the bike lines to get me to and from safely. Before the bike lanes there were times when I questioned if my decision to bike would be at the risk of my life and being there for my family. For some this has been true. People should have the choice of biking, for their health, environment, and as a way to reduce congestion, and they should be able to make that choice safely.
