I believe that building the new highway will result in irreparable damage to some of the most beautiful land in the GTA. It also adds very little in terms of efficiency. There are better options. Increased usage of highway 407. Improved train service.
Our elected leaders need to stop being persuaded by wealthy developers. Spend time in these areas and imagine the concrete jungle that will swallow this pristine landscape. Stop focusing on the short term, and be more strategic, and keep the environment at the forefront.
