I strongly urge you to ban digital billboards. This is my first and foremost reason why I am participating in this call for input. They merely exist as a way to district drivers, contributing to the leading cause of highway fatalities, and are the epitome of visual pollution. The LED lights infiltrate people's homes, cloudy days, and undivided attention.

I would also like to advocate for the elimination of trailers with billboards on the side of the road. This is the billboard industry not complying by the rules and clutters farmland.

Lastly, I advocate for minimizing the number of billboards. The bombardment of large signs is invasive and dominated almost entirely by private interests. I am disappointed to see that municipal, provincial, and federal governments rarely use the space as a way to engage people. (This would be especially relevant to the federal's government supposed efforts of informing people about electoral reform.)

While billboards provide some necessary revenue for the province, they are an eyesore and not the only way to bring in money. There is a stretch of Vancouver Island, right outside Victoria, that is just cram-packed with billboards. Victoria is arguably the most beautiful urban centre in Canada, and yet that is often one of the first things that comes to mind when I imagine. They are inescapable. But they don't have to be.
