I think as a resident of Uxbridge the rules that are being created for horses on the trails is mind blowing. Uxbridge claims to be the horse trail capital of Canada, yet they aren’t allowed on all the trails, RIDICULOUS! It’s also ridiculous that they have to have a bag strapped to them. What bureaucrat came up with that STUPID idea. What we should do is ban cyclists from the trails. Of the times I walk the trails, 80% of the time when cyclists go past, they are more than intrusive, loud and they make me move out of the way so they can ride by. In the spring all you see are bike tire treads on the trails during the thaw. If I’m enjoying a walk and cyclists are coming, I can hear them yelling at each other in conversation long before they get near me. That’s unacceptable. So if we are going to ban horses from the majority of the park, we may as well ban cyclists for the same reasons horses are banned. Cyclists do far more damage on the trails than horses do, and I walk the trails every day, so I see the difference.
