As a mother who moved from Toronto to this rural community, I did so to give my children a healthier, quieter life surrounded by nature. Not to live next to Toronto’s garbage!!!! We chose this place for the clean air, safe roads, and strong sense of community. The idea of a landfill accepting 6,000 tonnes of waste per day threatens everything we came here for. The heavy truck traffic will put my kids at greater risk when walking, biking, or even just waiting for the school bus. The air pollution, noise, and road damage will change our way of life, and we’re the ones left to live with the consequences...not Toronto. This project needs a full environmental assessment, not just for the health of our environment, but for the health and safety of our families who call this place home.
