I object to the change from permit to registration that enables developers to begin work without delay. The language on regulatory compliance sounds oriented to punishment after damage has occurred rather than prevention. Further, I object to the proposed change in language regarding habitat whereby only nesting sites and dens or other types of living quarters will be protected and their habitat--the areas they need to survive, hunt, forage, mate, etc. are not protected.
These changes seem designed to prioritize destruction of lands for profit over preservation of species.
