There is absolutely no justification in the removal of the EA from York1’s obligations. To propose a dump of this magnitude that is within one minute of the town of Dresden is reprehensible. To not have to fully investigate the environmental impact this would have in regards to pollution, infrastructure, the environment, the financial impact of the citizens in the area and the horrific number of trucks DAILY is absurd and not acceptable. To disregard the lives of those affected is totally barbaric and evil. Politicians must do what is right for the people and it is essential that ALL data be collected and that the people will be allowed to have input in this entire process…which would disappear if an EA is not obligatory.

To have the politicians release York1 from doing an EA when they initially said an EA had to be done is suspicious. To rush this small DORMANT landfill expansion without a complete EA being done beforehand will only bring devastation and destruction to our town and the surrounding area. To claim it is because of possible tariffs on garbage is just an excuse. If more dumps are needed for Toronto’s garbage, then other areas should be explored….not this tiny dormant landfill 800 meters from the town of Dresden.
