I am firmly against any proposal that makes decisions in the name of economic development without taking into consideration the long-term implications of those decisions. We are living in a time of great change and, more than ever, need the expertise of people who can help us progress economically without endangering our environment. Economic progress and conservation are not incompatible goals. Please make decisions that balance those goals appropriately.
