This proposal sounds incredibly aggressive. Undoubtedly people felt the same at one point about passenger pigeons. I don’t believe the wholesale slaughter of any species is justified and I am surprised that in a reasonably progressive country such as ours that a government agency is making such a proposal. I would certainly hope that there would be consultation with environmentalists who have some insight in the situation before this is enacted.
