The proposed landfill will take away habitat due to the amount of destruction we are causing to the surrounding area. Habitat around the landfill will be destroyed because of the runoff, and the disturbance of Molly’s creek, causing lots of animals to leave the area. The waste will run off into the creek, causing massive amounts of pollution. This will severely affect the Sydenham river and all the things around it. The farming industry will also be affected. Farmers will no longer be able to use water from the Sydenham, and the watershed will likely be affected as well. The Sydenham River is on of the most biodiverse Rivers in all of Canada. The area they will put the landfill in has extreme biodiversity, lots of habitat and natural vegetation. The information that York 1 has used to try and justify putting the dump into Dresden is false, and not up to date. There are plenty of organisms that will be severely affected by this dump, causing them to leave the area and causing a ginormous loss to Dresden, and the Sydenham's biodiversity.
