We have a duty to protect those who cannot protect themselves from people who would exploit for personal gain. These revisions to the endangered species act are effectively dismantling those protections that have been thoughtfully put into place. Sacrificing the more-than-human plants, insects, and animals who are most vulnerable for our own needs is not only lazy and short-sighted, but frankly monstrous. We can do better than this.
