The expansion of the Dresden landfill would be devastating to the environment of Molly's Creek and to the entire Dresden community at large. This is a despicable abuse of power BUT certainly not out of character for the Doug Ford Conservative government. The amendment is akin to the Trump administration and it's use of the Alien Enemies Act. It's an extremely slippery slope. I understand "garbage" needs to go somewhere BUT why does the Conservative government persist in relaxing laws pertaining to single use plastics and other strategies to protect our environment?? But no...their strategy is just to expand the landfill. An extremely short sighted plan to an ever increasing problem. Sincerely, a very concerned former Dresden resident.
