I completely disagree with…

I completely disagree with the removal of environmental assessment requirements for the York 1 Waste Disposal Site project. The Minister of the Environment assured the surrounding community in March 2024 that a comprehensive environmental assessment for this project will take place as a result of significant opposition to the project. This opposition is still there - that has not changed - so, this proposed EA requirement removal not only flies in the face of listening to local community members, it also undermines transparency and environmental protections.
